Harold has been farming with his wife, Shelley, just outside Almonte since 1985.
He started in dairy, moved to beef and cash crop, and now he cash crops 400 Acres, provides custom planting and spraying services, trucks commodities, and also has a value added (bird seed) enterprise.
Harold has a very diversified cash crop portfolio, usually growing 9 crops. In 2017 the list included: corn, round-up soybeans, IP soybeans, winter wheat, spring wheat, winter rye, malting barley, sunflowers, and buckwheat.
Harold has been committed to no-till for over a decade and believes that it has resulted in healthier soils for his cropping enterprise.
